Macaron with buttercream filling
Macarons, macarons, macarons!!!
Hi!!
Before I get started let me tell you that; this recipe gave me a little bit of trouble BUT it got it right. Macarons are not so easy to make but this recipe is simple and you shouldn't have any problems. As always you can contact me with any questions or comments. Follow the steps correctly and you'll have a delicious and chewy macaron.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of icing sugar
- 1 cup of almond flour
- 2 egg whites
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 cup of white fine sugar
- Food coloring if desired
Steps:
- Preheat oven to 300F
- In a large bowl mix the almond flour with the icing sugar. Make sure you don't have any crumbs.
- In a separate bowl whisk the two egg whites with salt until they form peaks.
- Little by little add the white sugar and keep beating until it becomes very thick. It shouldn't get out of the bowl if you turn it upside down.
- Gently stir the almond flour and icing sugar mix with the egg whites mix. Add 2-3 drops of food coloring if desired.
- Place in a piping bag carefully.
- In a baking sheet that you have already greased and had with parchment paper, make macarons of approximately 1 inch. Tap the sheet gently and let it rest for 20 minutes until they become glossy.
- Bake for 8 minutes; open the oven and let some steam to get out. Bake for another 8 minutes.
- Let them be completely cold before trying to get them out of the sheet. You don't want to break them.
- Make the filling and follow the steps below to get the macarons done.
Filling ingredients:
- 2/3 cup of butter
- 2/3 cup of icing sugar
Steps:
- Beat butter until softened and kind of fluffy-ish.
- Add icing sugar gradually.
- Place in a piping bag.
- Add filling to the flat part of 1 macaron and place another on top to make a sandwich.
- Eat or refrigerate for 24 hours for even more chewy and delicious macarons.
