I just started to make bake goods to sell from home which you can find in the menu if you are near me at Riviera Beach or West palm beach, Florida... Anyway, all this made me realized that there are a couple of things that I have been missing and thought that maybe that happens to some of you as well.

Here are some of the things that I consider that are essentials when it comes to baking.

     1. If you do not bake a lot, just do it in special occasions or holidays a hand mixer is fine for you. BUT if you bake a couple of times a week or freeze big quantities you definitely need a stand mixer.

     2. You will definitely need a spoon shaped spatula or a set of spatulas. In my case I always need more spatulas. I mean its like every time I bake I run out of everything in my kitchen.

     3. Baking sheets!! Nothing more to say here...

     4. Measuring spoons! ALL THE SIZES YOU CAN IMAGINE!! The usuals are 1/8, 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 1, 2/3 make sure you have those and you can keep adding whenever you can.

     5. Mixing bowls. I like better the stainless steel mixing bowls. They are easy to clean and they are very durable.

     6. Liquid measuring cups are important as well.

     7. FOOD SCALE!! Remember this because there are some recipes that do not say the quantity of the product in cups or teaspoons they say it in grams or pounds etc. This is going to be a life saver and its great for when you are trying to measure butter, fruits, etc.

    8. Cooling racks. This I is something that i didn't consider a must have BUT when I started baking more I realized it becomes a necessity.

    9. PARCHENT PAPER!

    10. Set of spatulas. Cookies spatula, brownie spatula, angled spatula etc.

    11. Wisks.

    12. Custard Cups. The more elaborated your creations become the more custard cups you'll need. At least thats whats happening to me.

I hope this was helpful to you and happy baking.
